ENHANCE YOUR BLOG WITH GADGETS
The direction and theme of your blog should
determine which gadgets you use. For example, if your blog is about health you may
not want to post up an Amazon gadget that plays rap music. Whatever gadget you
place must enhance the theme of your blog.
- Log into your blog. You will be taken to the dashboard
- Select the down arrow button next to the view blog tab
- Select layout
- On your own personal layout you will see a space with a link that says add a gadget
- Select add a gadget
- Choose a gadget that suits your blog
- In my opinion the basics contain gadgets you may used if your blog is new such as follow by email, search box etc.
- For the technologically sound bloggers editing your template may be easy but for other newbies like myself I like to use HTML/JavaScript to edit the template. It is easier and any changes can be undone by just deleting the gadget.
- If you choose to add codes from other sites select “Add your own. Use the code provided by the third party site.Copy it correctly or it would not work.
- After you add your gadget you can move it from any position by using the placeholder which would appear when the mouse is placed over the gadget box
- After changes have been made remember to save them by clicking on the save arrangement tab box above the template next to the preview tab
