A tumour  that grows and spreads aggressively is a malignant tumour whereas a tumour that does not is benign. 

When someone is told they have brain cancer that means that the tumor is malignant.It is spreading and will eventually take up the space of healthy normal  cells. The interesting thing about this type of cancer is that it may have arisen due to cancerous cells form another part of the body that have spread to the brain.

Brain tumors can take months and years to grow.

Some Doctors have suggested changes as a major factor in triggering its symptom but the real cause is unknown.Anything from radiation to environment to smoking could have been a contributor. 
The tumors are graded form 1 to 5 and even at a small stage they may appear normal  but are malignant and deadly.People have been discovered with tumors in there brains after death so its one of the silent killers.Signs and symptoms may include.

Seizures, weakness, vomiting change in mental capacity , loss of normal vision ,speed impediments of difficulty walking.When these signs and symptoms appear it is usually 

as a result of the tumour pressing on other vital parts of the brain.
